Women are creating new standards of business and driving industry in a direction that’s better for the world. My team and I thought it’d be fun to have a little love fest with a few of our favorite female-founded and women-owned businesses. Check ‘em out and get on board. Happy #InternationalWomensDay every damn day.

Skida
Embodying everything we love about women in biz, Skida’s game is local production and limited edition products. They have hats, headbands and neckwear, made with ? in Vermont. Enough for us to get behind, but it’s not just that. Corinne Prevot, Skida’s founder, is a great big badass. So there’s nobody better suited to inject tough-minded outdoor endeavors with sweet colors and floral prints. Learn more about their approach.
Lola
Companies making feminine products aren’t required to disclose any ingredients. And there’s a bunch of nasty (re: carcinogenic) shit in pretty much any tampon coming from a conventional personal care brand. The tide’s been changing, and Lola’s been a force. They make tampons that use only organic cotton. And they’re hard at work for women everywhere when it comes to menstrual equity. To top it, they feature real, diverse female representation in their content which shouldn’t even be as refreshing as it is. YAS.
Coolhaus
We love looooove! Coolhaus’s female co-owners are married, their content is amazing, their pint seals are sassy, and their products are freaking creamy, luxe and delicious. “I wish I could eat the Cereal Dream, Hey Copcake, Street Cart Curro and Campfire S’mores. I’ve had the Milkshake and Fries before I knew I was DF,” Caitlin, our dairy-free paid marketing magician.
Carve Designs
A fresh take on swimwear that blends the functional with the flattering. Dependable products and healthier marketing that features real women with normal beautiful bodies who are active with a fashion sense. Carve Designs was founded by two women determined to push the boundaries of outdoor apparel. They’re focused on California-based manufacturing and sustainable fabrics, and we like it.
Love Bottle
Love Bottle is just a beautiful approach to ridding the world of single-use plastic. Plus, they pack a mission of helping to get clean water to communities in need. They’re a certified B-Corp (which ain’t easy, folks), so we know without question that we can trust them, which is something that we really appreciate in the sea of consumer uncertainty. Female-founded and made in the USA.
Alright, so this is how brand democracy works: Every time you take your wallet out, you’re voting with your dollar. As we transfer consumer spending from market monopolizing companies that don’t give a shit to well-intended brands that do, there’s a transfer of power that has the potential to influence everything and positively impact our future. Whether you’re supporting women in business or not, it’s time for us, as consumers, to take our responsibility seriously.
At KW Content we’re mostly women—meaning, we’re extremely awesome at multitasking—so we’re trying to make it easy for you to do both at once. ?
